Hello again! I hope you're having a beautiful Saturday morning. I've spent the last couple of days sharing about my stay at Sandals Ochi. I've shared the resort and the beautiful rooms, and today I want to wrap things up on Ochi with the stars of the resort, the pools & beaches! This stunning resort has a LOT of property which means there are tons of pool & beach options. With over 100 pools and 3 separate beach areas, there's something to pique every mood.
You've gotten a sneak peek at the beach from the photo above, and yes the water really IS that blue, but today you'll get to see a closer look. The largest pool at the resort is in the Great House area of the resort, and showcases the famous Sandals look, with the tower above the pool. This area is close to restaurants, and offers beautiful poolside cabanas.
Isn't that stunning? Even at night there is a beautiful view of the pool from one of the Great House restaurants. Along with this pool, there are many others scattered throughout the property, including one perfectly overlooking the ocean. Hello, swimming sans the salt water!
Now that you've seen a few of the gorgeous pools, let's skip to the beach! Like I mentioned, there are 3 beach areas at Sandals Ochi. There is Ochi Beach Club, which offers a party atmosphere with games, hoppin' bars, and more right on the beach, a "lounge" beach I call it, which offers a blocked offer area of the ocean where you can float away without literally floating away, and Honeymoon Beach, which is a quieter area where some of the water sports are located as well as candlelit dinners on the beach. Between the Ochi Beach & "lounge" beach areas there are also the Sandals' boats for water sports, a promenade with fire pits & seating, perfect for catching a sunset, and local artisans selling anything from shoes to paintings to conch shells. Now be prepared for photo overload of the gorgeous water!
I like to warn people that this resort is very large, however that means there is even more to keep you entertained during your stay. Sandals Ochi is a stunning resort, and truly hope you've enjoyed this first hand account of the resort. You can view more information on my Sandals & Beaches Resorts sites, and you can book your own trip there. But if you would like more one-on-one care, please contact me. I would love to help with your dream trip! I'll see you back next week with more on Sandals & Beaches Resorts in Jamaica.
Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed yesterday's post on Sandals Ochi Resort in the beautiful Ocho Rios, Jamaica! I'm excited to be back again with more details on the beautiful rooms offered at Ochi. There are 20 room categories at Sandals Ochi Resort including rooms, suites, and private villas, one of which was featured on The Bachelor (and I saw it with my own eyes!!). With so many room options, that leaves something for everyone--any occasion and many price points, it also helps that Sandals is always offering amazing deals on its resorts, making that famous Romeo & Juliet Suite from The Bachelor a real life possibility for your vacation!
During my stay at Sandals Ochi, I was lucky enough to enjoy the Butler Village Oceanview One Bedroom Poolside Villa Suite atop the Butler Village "mountain". Though it was aways from the ocean, it was a beautiful suite with quick access to the beach via shuttle & a semi-private pool. The smaller pool at the villa served 3 other suites (so 4 in total), but I never saw another soul around! So it could essentially be super private. I loved that this suite was nestled on a hillside among the trees and greenery, yet still had a view of the ocean in the distance. Here is a look at this fab villa suite.
A very similar villa to the one above is the Butler Village One Bedroom Poolside Villa Estate Suite. The pool for these villas serves 2 rooms rather than 4 like above. Here's a quick shot of the pool area.
I've saved "the big one" for last, the Butler Village Honeymoon Romeo & Juliet One Bedroom Suite with Private Pool, featured on a one-on-one date episode of The Bachelor. Ben Higgins & JoJo Fletcher stayed in this sweet little love nest, nestled on the hill at Sandals Ochi. This villa pulls out all of the stops, including a butler, just for you, that leaves no detail untouched! These villas include a living area, bedroom & bath, both separated by a stunning courtyard with a private pool. Take a look at this stunning room, and the beautiful touches left by the villas' butler.
If you're more into being close to the beach, Sandals Ochi still has plenty to offer! With a second section in The Caribbean Riviera area, Ochi many beachfront options. Even though Ochi is a large resort, this allows for rooms with tons of privacy and some among the action close to the beach. I've shared photo overload on Sandals Ochi, and still have a bit more to share tomorrow. So check back then for views of the amazing pools and stunning ocean & beach views.

Welcome back! Time certainly got away from me yesterday with an afternoon dentist appointment. But the numbing finally wore off, and I'm excited to share more of my Jamaican adventure with you! As I mentioned the other day, I jet setted off to Jamaica at the end of August for an exciting training with Sandals & Beaches Resorts. I had an amazing, albeit tiring time touring several of their properties. It was so exciting to see these resorts in person, and get a better idea of where I'm sending my clients. It allows me to give first hand, seen with my own eyes information to give everyone the best romantic or family vacation as possible! Although I won't share every last detail, I do want to share the basics. I'm going to start with the resort I called home each night, and since I spent a lot of time there, I have broken it up into three separate posts. So if you are interested in more, be sure to check back! So I am going to start with the super popular Sandals Ochi in Ocho Rios, Jamaica!
This is one of Sandals largest properties, but that only means it has so, so much to offer! There are 20 room categories at Sandals Ochi including private villas, rooms, and suites, so there is literally something for everyone! Ochi offers over 100 pools and over 20 hot tubs all throughout this double sectioned resort. The resort is broken up into to parts with two spas and 17 dining options among the two areas. It also offers complimentary greens fees at Sandals Golf Course and Country Club nearby. This hopping resort also has rock climbing, multiple bars, including the only speakeasy in the Caribbean-password required for entry (so fun!), movies on the lawn, and numerous non-motorized water sports, all complimentary! As with all Sandals properties, they really went above and beyond with Ochi. Below are quite a few photos so you can see for yourself, and if you are interested in more details visit my Sandals website or contact me to book your own Ochi getaway or honeymoon! See you back later this week for a closer look at some of the AMAZING rooms, pools, and beaches at Sandals Ochi.
Hello there! Where in the world have I been you might be wondering. Well, it feels like everywhere! Since I last posted I've gone on my whirlwind trip to Jamaica, and it seems like I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off ever since! I'm slowly but surely catching up on things, and finally have my thoughts and photos gathered to start sharing some new locales with you. First up? Jamaica! For the next month or so, I'll be sharing information on Sandals & Beaches resorts in Jamaica. These posts will be a bit different than my typical trip posts, since I gathered the photos and info on a business trip. But I trust you'll still love seeing the photos and using all the info to help with your vacation.
Sandals & Beaches Resorts. I'm excited to share that I am officially a Certified Sandals Specialist, and am ready to bring you the best service and deals to any Sandals & Beaches resort. Along with the training, we toured 7 properties in a matter of a couple of days! It was exhausting to say the least, but so exciting to be able to bring back this first hand knowledge to my clients. During the trip, I fell immensely in love with the Sandals brand, and all that they stand for. I'm going to have incorporate the brand into a major campaign I'll be having next month, and can't wait to share it with you!
One of the biggest things I've learning is during Daylight Savings Time, Jamaica is on Central Time. A huge perk for me being that we are Central Time at home. The changes in time zones are always a kicker when traveling. I didn't completely avoid a time change, however. Since there was not a direct flight from Dallas to suit my schedule, I had a layover in Miami, a one hour time difference from home. Though not a huge difference, it is easy to get mixed up. To keep my time on track when traveling, I do a few things. I always wear a watch, especially when flying and changing planes. I keep my watch on home time to keep up with when it is appropriate times to call home and keep up with flight times with originating and home flight times. Secondly, on my iPhone, I keep the Clock App with the World Clock handy. I enter in Dallas to show home time, my destination to keep up with its time, and any connecting airport I may be flying into. Essentially, I could do without the watch and just use the Clock App, but I like having the watch handy.
Arriving in Jamaica + Club MoBay
Upon my arrival at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica, I was greeted by a friendly staff member of Club MoBay. Club MoBay, as well as Club Kingston (at the airport in Kingston), is an airport perk of Jamaica's airports. You purchase the package ahead of time. The package grants you expedited & escorted processing through customs and use of the club lounge. You can purchase an arrival, departing, or round trip package. I cannot recommend this enough! I never waited in line at customs, like at all, and the departure lounge was wonderful! If anything, I recommend the package for a time saver through customs. Your time should be spent on the beach, not the customs line! Note: if you are staying at Sandals or Beaches, you receive access to their airport lounge. However, I really do still recommend Club MoBay for the fast track through customs. If you are interested in the Club MoBay package for your Jamaican vacation, contact me, and we can get you set up.
With any location, I recommend arranging round-trip airport transportation prior to arrival. It can streamline your traveling, give you piece of mind, and helps keep during-travel-expenses to a minimum (I'm a pay as much as I can in advance kind of girl--less surprises that way). You'll also want to double check to see if your resort, if you are staying at one, offers airport shuttle service. Many all-inclusive resorts offer this service, so to keep you from paying extra for something you don't need, check with your resort. Of course, when you book travel with me, all of these things are lined out for you. ;) Now, while we are on the subject of airport to resort and back transportation, let's talk that Jamaican bus ride. I had quite the ride from Montego Bay to my resort in Ocho Rios. It wasn't a bad ride, bad driver by any means. It is just long & sometimes winding, especially in a bus. When making that ride, I highly recommend popping a motion sickness medicine like Dramamine to alleviate any sickness. You don't want to arrive in paradise sick as a dog. Also, be on the look out for goats, not that you could miss them, they are literally everywhere!
I know this sounds silly, but it is so super humid in Jamaica, especially in the summer months. Drinking lots and lots of water will help you keep in tip top shape while on your vacation. If you are outdoors a lot, which I hope you will be enjoying everything Jamaica has to offer, you will be sweating, a lot! Drink and keep lots of water with you at all times. Just thank me later!
This is obviously at tip for your return home, but it just might be the most important. Download the U.S. Customs and Border Protection app, Mobile Passport. This allows you to complete your customs forms on the app, then, well until this becomes the streamlined norm, puts you in a line for "mobile app" users at customs. You bypass completing the paper form, bypass the kiosks, and bypass that long line, heading straight for the customs agent. Though the U.S. Customs line runs fairly quickly, you really never know! Though you may not always be as luck as I was, this app at least puts you ahead of the game in waiting. Of course this app is good from any destination you are coming from, not just Jamaica, when entering the U.S. Download it, and, again, thank me later!
Hopefully these tips will help you with your Jamaican vacation, as well as other Caribbean destinations. As always, if you are antsy to plan your vacation, give me a shout, and we can get started on booking your dream trip! You can also view more information on the resorts I visited on my Sandals & Beaches Resorts sites. See you back again soon with more details on my trip to Jamaica!
