Hey y'all! Hope you enjoyed yesterday's post all about Broadway. Broadway theatre is such a gem, and a true must when visiting New York. Another must? Central Park, what today's post is all about.
Though we didn't spend more than a couple of hours in the park, the visits are definitely to be treasured. We stepped foot into Central Park on two occasions during our trip, once for an evening carriage ride and second for an early morning stroll through Central Park South.
So, our first night in New York, we ventured to the park to enjoy a carriage ride through the park. I don't have a lot of photos from the ride, as it was dark, but it was beautiful! We ventured around to see many of the beautiful bridges, Cherry Hill Fountain, and so much more. We enjoyed bundling up together to enjoy such a beautiful park of the city.
Our second visit inside Central Park was on our last full day. We ventured from our hotel in Times Square around 7 or 8 am to Central Park to enjoy a morning walk through the chilly park. We began midways along 59th Street through Central Park South.
We enjoyed seeing ducks frolicking in a thin dusting of ice in The Pond with Gapstow Bridge in the background, masters playing Frisbee and fetch with their frisky dogs, and a surprise proposal alongside The Pond! I tried my best to take in every leaf, every rock, every notable nook and cranny. One spot in particular will stay with me always. The bench, shown below, with a remarkable quote, "...This is a place to dream things that never were—and ask why not..." It felt like that bench spoke to me, and epitomized my life of traveling, which has forever changed my life, my mind, and my heart. With travel, I truly do think, "why not"!
Enough mushy-gushy. :) We truly enjoyed our time in Central Park, and for a future trip, I definitely intend to explore more of this stunning spot in the middle of a concrete jungle. Thank you so much for listening in today. I hope you have a great rest of the week!
